Help: Report Item

Is an auction item a fake, badly described, false and / or in breach of our Guidelines and Terms & Conditions?

vBid.me is committed to stopping the fraud and bad selling practices found on other internet auctions and how you report your concerns or even allegations will depend on several factors. If you see an auction listing which you believe is wrong, these are the different steps you can take but remember, vBid.me does not tollerate malicious acts against sellers (see our Guidelines);

1) Report an Item
Each auction has a "Report this Item" link, where you can report it to vBid.me admin if you believe it violates our guidelines and / or terms and conditions. If we agree, we will cancel the auction and advise / deal with the seller accordingly. If we disagree, we will tell you why.

2) Ask the Seller a Question - the Fake-O-Meter
Each auction / sale / offer has this facility. Unlike other internet auctions however, your question is immediately published so that everyone else can see it. This means you can politely and carefully ask a seller why they believe their item is authentic / description is accurate, perhaps refering them to an article or book which may indicate otherwise. The seller can do one or more of three things when you ask them a question; a) they can ignore it, although the question will remain published on their auction page, b) they can reply to it, and / or c) they can report you / your question if they believe you are being unfair or malicious for possible removal / warning / suspension. Of course, vBid.me does not suspend anyone without good reason; it does not make sense for us to do so.

3) Debate / discuss it on vbay.me
Rather than Ask the Seller a Question or Report an Item, if you have a hunch something is not right about an auction, a seller or their item, you can openly and freely discuss this on our sister forum vBay.me. This allows you to garner other people's opinion and if others agree with something more than a hunch, you / they can then Ask the Seller a Question, pointing them to the discussion / debate on vBay.me (for the seller to address your concerns) and / or Report the Item to us citing the information on vBay.me.

Remember though, this ability and transparency is to help combat fraud / bad practice, it is not an open license to make trouble for a seller; the reverse!
